ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State
Representative Leesa Hagan (R-Lyons) as the Chair of the House Rural Development
Committee.

“Establishing a committee focused specifically on rural Georgia is important for addressing our
unique challenges and opportunities,” said Rep. Hagan. “Through targeted policies and
initiatives, we can drive economic development, improve services and enhance the quality of life
for rural Georgians, ensuring that none of our citizens are left behind.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is
charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of
Representatives.

The House Rural Development Committee identifies policies and ideas to enhance economic
